Nice. Very nice. I’m still not sold on the cel shaded look… exactly… and they seem to need a bit more on the “atmospheric lighting” look, but yes, this really does hew nicely close to the source.

Eh, I’m not much for the look itself, though it does look very authentic.
I find it rather funny that while I was watching the kids blissfully run through the countryside, I thought to myself “Oooh, very visually true to a Studio Ghibli movie, now I wonder what would happen if they ran into a random wandering encounter…”
…Sure enough, they did. *laughs* It’s Studio Ghibli meets Pokemon!

One of the things this art style has that I also really enjoy about WoW is that there won’t be a bunch of immersion breaking jaggies or water hovering above the ground or other things you see in games that try for ultra-realism.
