I’m back from my week-long trip to California. It’s amazing how spending a week doing lots of “real” stuff makes you lose interest in doing any “virtual” stuff.
I guess I’m going to need some time to see if/when I develop enough interest to start playing video games again.

Or really, anything that knocks you out of that playing mentality can cause long-term reductions to the desire to play. The easy-to-see version is when someone switches games: in the course of two weeks, he goes from spouting the loot drop tables from memory to “EQ suxx0rz.” One large setback in-game can make you seriously ask, “Why am I playing this?” That’s a crisis that can last a while. The grind looks pretty silly when you’re not into it.
Umm… real life sucks. I am forced to do real life stuff all the time. I would give it up in a minute to play video games.
Oh and real life stuff has prevented me from posting about the FFXI, and there is a ton of stuff to talk about with that, so you should see something about that soon :)
